You don’t know what you’re capable of yet. Learn how noticing curiosity, alignment, and small choices can shape your creative life and business.
As this year gently comes to a close, I keep coming back to one simple thought:
We don’t actually know what we’re capable of yet.
Not fully.
Not even close.
So much of what becomes possible in our lives and creative work isn’t revealed all at once. It doesn’t arrive with a clear roadmap or perfect timing. Instead, it shows up quietly, in breadcrumbs.
In the things that stir our hearts.
In what we’re drawn to without fully understanding why.
And in the work that feels exciting, meaningful, or alive, even when it doesn’t make sense on paper yet.
Those breadcrumbs matter.
They aren’t random.
They’re clues.
They’re invitations.
And more often than not, they’re pointing us toward the very work, opportunities, and life we’re meant to build next.
As we look toward a new year, preparation doesn’t have to mean pressure, hustle, or overplanning.
Sometimes preparation is much quieter.
It looks like paying attention.
Listening closely.
Noticing what keeps resurfacing.
And then slowly, intentionally, making choices that honor what we notice.
But before any of that, these final days of the year offer something even more important.
An invitation to something simpler.
Rest.
Reflect.
Play.
Let your mind wander a little.
You don’t need to have it all figured out to be moving forward.
When you’re ready, here are three grounding ways to begin stepping into the year ahead—without overwhelm.
What themes, products, styles, or ideas keep resurfacing for you?
What kind of work excites you right now?
Take a moment to reflect on what you find yourself saving, studying, or daydreaming about.
Instead of brushing these things off as “random” or impractical, try viewing them as information.
Your curiosity is often wiser than you think.
It’s quietly gathering data and guiding you toward something meaningful.
Once you notice what’s drawing you in, ask a gentle follow-up question:
How could this translate into real momentum?
That might look like:
You don’t need giant leaps.
Small, aligned choices compound faster than big, scattered ones.
We can’t do everything and we don’t need to.
So much growth comes not from doing more, but from simplifying:
This is how creative lives and sustainable businesses are built.
Not all at once.
But one aligned decision at a time.
(Or the kitchen table, where I started, too.)
As you move into a new season, I want you to know this:
You don’t need to rush into becoming who you’re growing into.
The breadcrumbs are already there.
Your job is simply to notice them and take the next step.
To help with that, I’ve created a small gift designed to bring clarity without overwhelm:
Your Best Next Steps Guide
